How to use Resolution Rescaler

Yuzu comes with a built-in resolution rescale feature that can upscale your games so they look even more beautiful. This is another one of the amazing features that Yuzu offers alongside Multiplayer, Game Modding and Tool Assisted Speedrun.

How it works

The rescale feature works by enhancing the visuals using hardware and software adjustments in the background. It does mean that your system resources are used more heavily as better graphics are being generated in real-time.

How to Enable Resolution Rescaling

This feature can be enabled in the configuration menu. Go to “Graphics” then click on “Internal Resolution“.

Here you will see various dropdown options once you click “Internal Resolution“. Here all of the upscaling options are shown that you can scale to.

Profile Scanning

Yuzu has a profile scanner function that allows it to check and copy the rendering methods the game is using so it can create its resolution profile in the sense of being rescaled. Once the scaling profile has been created you can go back and select it from the “Internal Resolution” dropdown.

If you are after the best results, it is advised to play through as most of the game you can so it can check all the scenes and screens to render for the best performance.

Resolution Rescaling Profiles Location

The profiles can be found at “%APPDATA%/yuzu/rescaling” on Windows 10/11 PCs. On Linux, it can be found out “~/local/share/yuzu-emu/rescaling/” directory.

Alternatively, you can find the profile by right-clicking on the game and selecting “Open Rescaling Profile“. You can also transfer rescaling profiles to other devices.

Rescaling Temporarily Removed from Latest Versions

As there have been a lot of reported issues with resolution rescaling and the profiles this was removed. Most of the issues were caused by compatibility gaps with Intel and AMG GPUs hence it was removed from stable builds.
